Kobori Prize Award Ceremony

The IASCM Takuji Kobori Prize has been created by IASCM to promote research and development in the area of structural control and monitoring. This prize will be awarded to a paper that is judged to be the best among all the papers published in Structural Control and Health Monitoring (SCHM), the official journal of the International Association for Structural Control and Monitoring (IASCM). The prize is awarded annually, to the authors of the best paper published in the SCHM, in the preceding year.

2017 winning paper: 'Color and depth data fusion using an RGB-D sensor for inexpensive and contactless dynamic displacement-field measurement'

2016 winning paper: 'Efficient time synchronization for structural health monitoring using wireless smart sensor networks'

2015 winning paper: 'Seismic response analyses of an asymmetric base-isolated building during the 2011 Great East Japan (Tohoku) Earthquake'

2014 winning paper: 'A European Association for the Control of Structures joint perspective. Recent studies in civil structural control across Europe'

2013 winning paper: 'Damage classification in structural health monitoring using principal component analysis and self-organizing maps'

2012 winning paper: 'Long-term condition assessment of suspenders under traffic loads based on structural monitoring system: Application to the Tsing Ma Bridge'


Kobori Prize for 2012 and 2013 was awarded in the IWCSCM in Korea and in 6WCSCM, respectively, and an editorial regarding the prize has already appeared in SCHM. Kobori Prizes for 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014 will be formally awarded at the banquet of the 7WCSCM, Qingdao, China.
